How I got into Bitcoin

December 22nd, 2011

Me a freshman in high school. I was in my mother’s basement.

All I wanted was to go buy a pair of Air Jordan Concord 11's

My parents would not let me leave the house to camp out for the shoes. i was very disgruntled with their decisions. How could they deny me this opportunity to spend the money I earned?

I sat in front of my computer screen scrolling through my facebook timeline looking at the mobs of people lined up outside of footlocker.

I found myself on 4chan and came across Bitcoin

I had $200 burning a hole and my pocket and curiosity got the best of me.

I came across someone on Craig list. I got a laptop and went to meet this random dude at a coffee shop on K street.

I set up a wallet and he sent me my bitcoin.

I then went back home happy with my purchase. I then went on to read the Bitcoin whitepaper not knowing that I would become obsessed with all things blockchain and dedicate the next 7 years of my life to the industry

At the end of 2011 I bought $200 worth of Bitcoin, but it wasn’t going to be the last time.
